Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning

Since late October, the film Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning was released in Japan's cinemas. With great pleasure I will mention that it now arrives at Greek cinemas on 4 January 2024.

The impressive thing is that not only will the film be shown with Greek subtitles but there will also be the choice of Greek compilation. Below is the trailer with Greek voices.

As the rapporteur says, Digital Soul Entertainment which brings the film to our country: «their Selected Children and Digimon return to Greece and with the voices we loved in our childhood». A very good comment and especially for people in my age range because Digimon Adventure was the first anime I watched on Greek television.

Already in social media recently, videos have started to go out with the voice actor recording at some point in the film as regards the respective role.

A few words about the film

History unfolds in 2012 and is a continuation of Digimon Adventure Tri and Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna. In the lead roles we have the Selected Children of the series Digimon Adventure 02 (TK, Cary, Davis, Ken, Yolay and Cody). If you remember it's a sequel to the original Digimon Adventure.

Commentary by Dimitris Sarlo

In our enthusiasm, we asked Dimitris Sarlos (his Greek voice TK) to tell us a few words about the film and its whole experience.

The film is placed chronicly in 2012. Ten years after the second season of the series and nearly ten years before today. Nevertheless, its issue concerns today more than ever, such as the rise of technology and how it affects human relations and relations within a family. The film may be a sequel to a 2000 series but it can be watched by anyone, hence the title «The Authority» (the beginning).
It was a great pleasure and an honor to participate in this film, as I am a great fan of Digimon, as well as directing the series' favorite actors: Sophia Panailidou, Europa, Katerina Girgis and Argiri Pavlidis. Listening to their voices I became a child again and transferred to the mornings of the weekend listening to them in a row. That feeling of nostalgia I'm sure everyone will feel it at the sound of their voice.

We would like to thank Dimitris for the commentary and also give a big shot to Digital Soul Entertainment. It gives us a chance to watch the movie on the big screen. Such efforts must be supported so that more anime films can find their way to Greek cinema.
