Long-awaited parody from Paolo Motura at Mickey Mouse! (Here. discussion at the forum of COMIX Wiki about history)
Metropolis (70 pages)
- Project: Paolo Mottura – Screenplay: Francesco Artibani
The cover is fantastic. His coloring is amazing and has a wonderful design. I love that they kept the Metropolis font as long as possible as in the original. I guess we're talking about the best cover we've seen at Mickey Mouse this year. 10/10
Looking at Metropolis, the futuristic city of the future from the top of its tallest skyscraper, one feels awe and admiration, thanks to the energy that moves its gears and makes its lights shine. The brave protagonist of our adventure will understand that the truth is very different and will need to face a multitude of dangers to bring to his beloved city, freedom and justice for all.
If you remember, I had this particular story on 10 Italians I would like to see in Greece. It should also be noted that it came out in Italy on 4 January 2017 and after 10 months we have it in our country. I've been saying since last week when I'm gonna have time to read it... I finally found and read the story. Really great! He had a lot of beautiful things. First of all, there were moral lessons, inequality, injustice, how easily the mob can be carried away, plots. Even coloring was important. At first and generally within the flow of history the city looks fancy while the colors are more intense and generally darker when we go to the bottom of the city. In the end it changes that and it's like it symbolizes a new era.
Wonderful frame from Mottura and stand out the city frame, page 55 and 66 revealed by the robot and the last of the story. Especially the big frame on page 55 is for frame-up and for someone to stare at for a while. It was really incredible work and the whole flow seemed filmy. That's what I like about Mottura. Wonderful and symbolism that Minnie's personality passed on the Robot so much that it created feelings for him. It was so intense that a machine eventually destroyed the status of machines and injustices. I mean, Minnie's doppelganger was so affected that she got out of control of her creator, even passed the feeling of love for Mick.
Very good were the characters in their roles. Everyone fit in. Phased Blackfang's hair, which made the Black Ghost look like a crazy scientist. I liked the accompanying article and had to exist for such a story. The only negative thing is that I wanted more.
As we said before, this story should have entered COMIX and an accompanying article of 3-4 pages and we'd be talking about teyhara! I don't accept any excuse from Editor. Such stories must be redeveloped. In a larger size, I would have enjoyed it more. The Moby Dick issue was great. Sample of new navigation and renewal. That's how they had to treat Metropolis.
The issue is, of course, proposed by the thousand for purchase. The rest of the two stories aren't anything but it's only worth taking the magazine for.
