COMIX #14 with a main story (according to the cover) designed by Vikar. Great cover, but we've seen better in this series. The fourteenth COMIX has 12 stories (including five single-pages). COMIX closed a year in the previous issue, and now let's go see how the second year of the magazine begins with the new issue. Let's go see the stories slowly.

The first story is a 30-page story with Mickey Mouse from Paolo Mottura's pen.

Summary:
A secret passed from generation to generation, a mysterious kidnapping and a ruthless aspiring king compose an atmospheric adventure with a background of the 19th century Mickey City, from the pen of the Italian designer Paolo Mottura.

The story (which is essentially the central of the issue) has excellent design and coloring, but quite boring script. I would prefer more action and a more original plot. However, the end suggests that we'll probably see the story all the time. So... 7,5/10.

The second story is "Family Fight", with Lars Jensen plot, Christopher Spencer text and Vicar design.

Summary:
Uncle Scrooge meets Cousin Douglas, and they bet they don't spend anything for a whole day.

This story was the second best of the issue, and bad for me that didn't have an article, since it's the "lady" if we go with the cover... I liked it a lot and I read it earlier in English. He had action with a nice and original design from Vicar, but it was short, resulting in no great chase with the Marrowlycus and Magica. If she were older, she'd be a little diamond. So... 8,5/10.

The third story is the "Microbiophobia".

Summary:
Uncle Scrooge wants to buy a pig farm, but soon he gets something that will change his mind radically and get him a strong fear of germs.

That's a good story from Caesar Firioly. Original script with some funny scenes with Scrooge, but it doesn't cease to be just a pretty good 10 page.

So we'll put the 7,5/10.

Fourth story is "Responsible Opponent" Carl Barks.

Summary:
Donald does all the strange types of sounds, and his nephews try to imitate them.

Wonderful design and script by Carl Barks. The best story of the issue and generally one of Barks' very good tens of pages. The nephews and Donald, when they collide, are a lot of fun.

It gets comfortable. 9/10.

Fifth story is "The Rematch of Unlucky".

Summary:
Donald resents, who did not win in a draw and argues that his misfortune is due to Gastone's outrageous fate. However, luck seems to be on his side.

Well, that story was pretty good for five pages. He shows us Donald getting his blood back, but things aren't what they seem in the end. It serves its role, which is to fill the issue nicely...

So we'll finally put on a 6,5/10.

Fifth story is "Ecological Deadlock".

Summary:
Cyrus invents a machine for Small Explorers, which helps them to expand a garden in an environmentally correct way. But the machine seems to have a few flaws.

Freddy Milton's story was his worst issue and the weakest design (of normal stories). So it was the script, but the character design was kind of. He's trying to get an ecological message through, but a story like this doesn't belong to COMIX, but to Super Mickey...

So... 5/10.

Fifth story is "The Invisible Soda".

Summary:
The energy drink that Donald drinks on the field, while watching the Limnoupoli team race, has been abolished. However, he is looking for a way to continue his habit.

Good six-page story with a nice plan. The script was relatively good, but there was nothing special...

So... 6–6,5/10.

We had five single-page stories, which were almost all indifferent. Only For Two Hamburgers was kind of good. To say that once again we did not have COMIX News, but only two major stories had an accompanying article (I would like more), and Letters to Syntax It was just a page. In general the issue was full of stories, but we had many small stories, and this is not so good, because not only were they not particularly good, but they made the issue tiring!

This COMIX in its structure is the worst issue and gets a total, one 7,5/10. The issue had only four stories to stand out from the seven (if we put in the single pages, then 12)... We even had commercials that had no reason to exist. We saw an advertisement for next Friday's Mickey Mouse and today's... They didn't have to be both in the issue as they ate space, since in place of one page of one we could have one more article or another page in the column Letters in Pension. To emphasize that stories such as single-pages, but also the Ecological Deadlock, They do not belong to COMIX, but to COMIX Super Mickey And they could be replaced by a fine ten - page, which would not make the issue so tiring! In short, the many single-pages, advertisements, two small stories, but also the shortages of articles made tiring COMIX #14. Look at New Period issues, such as Moby Dick,The Time Island, The Dark World, who had few stories, but large, which were outstanding, how good issues were! They were quality and not quantity.

In the next COMIX we'll see a main 32-page story, Dylan Mouse The Paolo Motura and Tito FarachiA parody of Dylan Dog, that looks interesting! It is released on Tuesday, September 29th. For the rest of the stories of the issue, nothing more is known, but only that we will have a story of Barks.
