New COMIX 25: Return to Xanadu

COMIX #25 with a republished history of Don Rosa, "Back to Xanadu". The cover may be more impressive than that of the First Period's COMIX 78 but what seems to be too packed is its biggest disadvantage.The structure of the issue is like that of previous issues of 2016.

Twenty-fifth COMIX has total, 7 stories. Let's go take a look at them.

The first story "Back to Xanadu" It has 30 pages.

Summary:
Donald, Scrooge, and nephews are trapped in a lost utopian valley, whose inhabitants are happy and ignore the thirst for money and material goods.

Rosa's plan is beautiful with history having some impressive frame! Especially the last one with the treasure and another with Tralla La!! Wonderful sequel to Carl Barks' story Adventure in Tralla La. But let it be said that the story of the great Master is in 3rd place in Induck s compared to 32405 other stories! I have to say, I particularly liked the frames with Donald and the persistence of saving Trala la and his relatives. I really would like to see another sequel, but this time in the history of Rosa.

For the above, I'll add one. 9,5-10/10.

The second story is "Dangerous Games".

Summary:
Huey, Louie, and Dewey find an alien x-ray that squares the objects. While playing with him, they accidentally hit Donald and he becomes square! The four ducks will seek a solution from Cyrus.

Let's get down to the secondary stories. History from Vicar's pen had a beautiful design but quite weak script. Aliens didn't like me either design or script. I don't think it took 12 pages of history. The only thing that happens is Donald's squarement. Personally, I find her meaningless and one of Vicar's weakest in terms of script.

We'll put on the plan mostly. 6/10.

The third story is "Summer in Snows".

Summary:
In Mickey City there is incredible heat and a big businessman named Ivan Xerovoris opens a park where snow is placed and extremely low temperatures prevail. He hires the unemployed Mickey and Goofy to work there. Unexplainedly, as the days pass and the park is open, the temperature outside of it rises unreal.

So we've come to Noel Van Horn's story. The plan is mediocre while the script is a "children's" version of stories with Mickey catching thugs... Nothing special that makes you remember her or want to read her again after a while. One-time stories I'd tell Noel Van Horn's stories... and no one's stories... because if we didn't read them, we wouldn't lose anything. Once again Van Horn's story is the worst of the issue and enters simply to have a story with Mickey but also to fill the issue.

We'll use it. 4,5/10.

The fourth story is "A Uprooted Witch.".

Summary:
The slope of Bezuvius where Magica has built her hut is declared a natural park and the sympathetic witch is forced to seek a new roof, which is not as easy as she thinks...

This original move I can say with a moderate plan. I think the script could have evolved a little better. I didn't like Vesuvius' ecological balance depending on magic but also the fact that Magica didn't seem threatening at all. He didn't turn a man into a frog the speech says. I mean, he wasn't her usual character. He plays with tourists turning them into rodents and not rodents...

So for originality, 6/10.

The third story is "Panic to Heaven".

Summary:
Scrooge discovers a new island that has just emerged into the sea. He decides to make it a super-luxurous tourist resort, ignoring local warnings about the existence of a monster in the area.

History by Carlos Mota... He came in to fill the issue and it's nothing special. But he's got a nice plan and if it was a long normal story, it might have been interesting.

One, 6/10 We'll put it on.

The sixth story is "Veteran Time".

Summary:
Scrooge travels along with Donald to Palyajur, a small state in the Himalayas to import into Limnoupoli an exotic fruit produced exclusively there, the cokoromil.

Ιστορία του Ρότα που δεν είναι τόσο βαρετές όσες οι προηγούμενες και έχει και μια μικρή πρωτοτυπία που μου άρεσε. Η πρωτοτυπία στην οποία αναφέρομαι είναι ότι ο Σκρουτζ αυτή τη φορά πρέπει να κάνει τα καπρίτσια του Ντόναλντ για να κλείσει μια συμφωνία. Κάτι άλλο που μου άρεσε είναι ότι έδειξε ότι οι ηλικιωμένοι είναι σοφοί και ότι μπορούν με την εμπειρία και την σοφία τους να ανταπεξέλθουν σε διάφορες καταστάσεις. Το σχέδιο ήταν καλό αλλά θα μπορούσε να είναι καλύτερο. Η δεύτερη καλύτερη ιστορία του τεύχους.

One 6,5-7/10 I think it's all right.

Seventh story is “Ανία Τέχνας Κατεργάζεται”.

Summary:
Ο Ντόναλντ κάνει όποια τρέλα του έρθει στο μυαλό για να μην πέσει στα δίχτυα της βαρεμάρας. Ιδρύει έναν σύλλογο κατά της ανίας και σύντομα όλοι οι πολίτες της Λιμνούπολης γίνονται μέλη της, ενώ η κατάσταση στους δρόμους και τα πεζοδρόμια γίνεται τραγελαφική!

Και άλλη μια ιδέα κάπως πρωτότυπη και είχε κάποια αστεία καρέ αλλά προσωπικά δεν την βρήκα σαν ιστορία κάτι το ιδιαίτερο. Το σχέδιο του Ουίλλιαμ Βαν Χορν μου φαίνεται κάπως περίεργο και σε κάποια καρέ άσχημο αλλά γενικά δεν είναι κακό. Πάντα στις ιστορίες του ο Ντόναλντ φαίνεται λίγο πιο “τρελός” ή πιο χαζοχαρούμενος. Κάποιες φορές μου αρέσει αυτό και κάποιες όχι. Αυτή είναι μια από τις φορές που το βρίσκω βαρετό και εκνευριστικό σε κάποια σημεία…

One 6/10 So for the story!

Το ΚΟΜΙΞ #25 συνεχίζει πάλι στην ίδια πορεία με το ΚΟΜΙΞ #24… Θα τονίσω πάλι ότι πολύ αρνητικό που έχουν κοπεί τα άρθρα. Έχουμε μόνο ένα για την ιστορία του Ρόσα και άλλο ένα λίγο πιο γενικό για τις περιπέτειες των Ντακ στα βουνά… Καλό θα ήταν να υπάρχουν πολλά (και σχετικά με τις ιστορίες) διότι χωρίς αυτά το περιοδικό χάνει την ταυτότητα του. Βέβαια θα μου πεις εάν η ιστορία δεν το αξίζει; Είναι και αυτό… Θα βάλουμε για τα παραπάνω 6,5/10 as an issue. Πάνω κάτω σχετικά πολύ μέτριες συνοδευτικές με μόνο του Ρότα να ξεχωρίζει λίγο.

In the new issue of COMIX we will see again (για 8 φορά!) reprint history of Rosa "The Wendigo War" ως κύρια ιστορία 27 σελίδων. Η ιστορία αυτή έχει μπει παλιά στο ΚΟΜΙΞ 143 το 2000 και το 2009 στη COMIX 3 Library ως κύρια ιστορία. Κυκλοφορεί την Τετάρτη 31 Αυγούστου. Για τις υπόλοιπες ιστορίες του τεύχους δεν είναι γνωστο κάτι.

Το εξώφυλλο του ΚΟΜΙΞ #26 θα πω για άλλη μια φορά ότι έπρεπε να μπει στο τεύχος της Α΄ Περιόδου και όχι κάποιο άσχετο εξώφυλλο…

Σύμφωνα με το ημερολόγιο η αφίσα για το μήνα Σεπτέμβριο (ΚΟΜΙΞ 27) είναι αφιερωμένη στην ιστορία “Οι Φύλακες της χαμένης βιβλιοθήκης” published in COMIX 114 The 1997 and COMIX 3 Library The 2009.

Too much Scandinavia has fallen into COMIX. I wonder if the Italian stories will be remembered again or what? They put in supplementary Scandinavians at least put something good on. So many unpublished ones exist according to Induck s… Χάνουμε και φοβερές Ιταλικές ιστορίες όπως Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. But I guess μια ενδιαφέρουσα νέα ιστορία που βγαίνει τον Νοέμβριο στο Topolino μάλλον θα αργήσουμε να τη δούμε στο ΚΟΜΙΞ…

Εν τέλει, το ΚΟΜΙΞ συνεχίζει το έτος Ρόσα με το εικοστό πέμπτο τεύχος στα ίδια επίπεδα με το προηγούμενο του και οι ιστορίες πάνε σύμφωνα με το ημερολόγιο. Ελπίζω να δούμε κάποια έκπληξη στα μελλοντικά τεύχη του 2016… Είναι πολύ μονότονα μέχρι στη στιγμής.
