What manga is this about?
The «No Longer Allowed in Another World» or – otherwise «Isekai Shikkaku» – is a dark imagination (dark fantasy) manga type Isekai of Hiroshi Noda (history) and Takahiro Wakamatsu (plan).
This manga I think has a particularity because it breaks some stereotypes of this kind. Which one distinguishes from his protagonist, Sensei (as they call him), who is a melancholy writer.
As of October 2, 2019 Circulating in sequels to Shoga's manga website Shogakukan «Yawaraka Spirits». In English it comes out of Seven Seas Entertainment. The first volume to which the article is dedicated, was released in January 2023.
A few words about the plot
The story begins on June 13, 1948, in a completely grim place, where the melancholy writer Osamu Dazai prepares together with Sac-chan to make a double suicide.
Before they can do anything, the classic Truck-kun of Isekai beats them both. So they are transferred to another world, where Sensei wakes up meets Priestess Annette. That explains that she brought him into her world to save him and become a hero. But something that It doesn't really move him.
So he tries to kill himself again, but Annette saves him every time. Of course, Jeremiah is concerned that her hero does not see any special power as the others she has encountered.
After a conversation with him, Annette understands that Sensei is separate from the other heroes and decides to follow him. Sensei initially tries to die, but eventually everything he does turns back into a boomerang.
Along the way, he realizes he can find Sac-chan in this world and complete his original plan. So his journey into this new world begins. But how does his mission evolve when eventually the bad guys and the good guys he meets are not what he expects? Finally, indeed those sent to this new world are «heroes»?
Characters
Sensei's character is all the money. He gets bored easily and sleeps, has suicidal tendencies but gives wise advice and directions. Even if it's physically «weak», his character and spirit are so loud that he surprises others with his words and imposing presence. He's an unhappy hero in a grim Isekai-style comedy! The fact that he is a writer also plays a special role in the plot, as his pen has a very important quality.
On the other hand, and the secondary characters that accompany him on his journey, such as Annette and Tama have an interest and growth margins. «Hero’s party» We could tell everyone to have their own role.
The design style
Takahiro Wakamatsu's design is quite beautiful and detailed when it should (in landscapes, in shadows etc.). The designer emphasizes character expressions which I find very interesting.
Summary
In conclusion, the plan and the protagonist drew me to learn more about the series. The ways Dazai tries to die are funny, and in its way the series cauterizes the classic Isekai theme. The first volume serves its purpose by introducing us into the new world and closing with an explosive meeting.
