And it's time to present the first volume of the new series! !

And let it take so long for the news to be known to us and for Daily Summer to fry us, but finally it's a mess! Her first toy Library of Romano Scarpa He's finally here.

Personally when I went to the booth to see the paper last week, see if we got anything after all, and I saw the commercial I lost it. I didn't think we'd be seeing little tomatoes with his stories. Scarpa. I was pleasantly surprised.

Characteristics of the issue

But now let's talk about the first volume we've all been waiting for. To begin with, the full name of the series is Big Disney Stories – Romano Scarpa's All. The cover is soft but beautiful. Paper quality is not the best thing since we're talking about newspaper paper... Big Splash about or like old classics) And the back is fine. But I kind of soured the cover that's not hard and the quality of the paper. Mostly paper quality. Maybe they put her up to make the tom look fatter or save money or both! But anyway.

The publication takes (as all of us will have learned from the respective Italian. Ours is a similar size and soft cover after all. A lot in common. At the beginning of the volume we have a beautiful text written by Fabio Licari about Scarpa and his stories. The first story has its own two-page presentation, here in particular the two-page article talks about history The Mystery of Tapioka St’. Every story has its own accompanying article, please! Before each story a whole page is devoted on its history, i.e. original title, first publication reference and more general information on how Scarpa was led to the creation of each.

The stories of the first volume are what we have told in a previous article:

The stories are four with several pages (all look great) and are half of the second Italian volume. Half stories and half cover. Half-time jobs. The coloring of stories is modern with the exception of history The Microcosm Boat.

Unlike the Disney Library and the Italian version the volume does not end with the presentation of a character. (unfortunately...) Personally, I liked them. character profiles Barks Library... They had interesting material. However, we have several similarities with the publication of Barks's allotments as to the setting up of the volume. So we're talking about a good version of interesting material. But at the end we have 3 unpublished single-page stories (with old color) from the magazine Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse.

Is it worth it?

However, this series I believe is a wonderful market and Scarpa is a very good creator of whose works are worth having in his Library. It may not be. Barks and not having the quality of his volumes but she has many nice jobs and Kathimerini offers us the volumes at 4 euros. (We've been over this in the past summers) 😛 )

I don't know how long the show's gonna last because bad lies... Such a project with a choice of stories and the like has a lot of buzz and takes a lot of time. The important thing is to enjoy the tomatoes that they will make (as much as they are) and that we finally have Scarpa and will learn more people with these volumes. Personally, as I've said, I don't expect 102 volumes. Plus, it's gonna take too long to complete this, and until then, we don't know if Kathimerini's gonna be publishing Disney.

Comparisons with other publications

Comparison of the back of the first volume with the first volume of the Disney Great Library in the first picture. And in the second, the size of the volume compared to COMIX.

Advertising of the next volume
