COMIX #16 with a main story again designed by Mottura pen, with amazing cover with excellent coloring! The sixteenth COMIX has total, along with single-pages, 9 stories. Let's go see them once.

The first story is a 43-page story with Scrooge and Robax from Paolo Mottura.

Summary:
Uncle Scrooge is desperate! Nobody buys their multi-volume encyclopedias anymore, as everyone finds the information they need online. His only hope is to find the mythical Great Encyclopedia, which, according to legend, contains everything in every science! On his side, Ludwig Von Drake and, in extraordinary appearance, a great European writer!

This story is beautifully designed in more typical Topolino style, than we've been used to by Mottura so far. It reminded me mainly of the cover story of Don Rosa. The Guardians of the Lost Library. Of course, here we don't have the Little Explorers and their book, but two magnates, ready for everything. The script is original, but it's nothing special. Of course, I loved how technology adapted to the plot. But we also saw Umberto Echo in a comic book version, in a nice partnership with Ludwig. Of course, I didn't like it at all that the plans/pictures of Topolino didn't come in. I expected a little more organized article along with the pictures. (You can see them Here.) So... 7,5/10.

The second story is "The good detective's manual"Vicar.

Summary:
Donald becomes a detective, trying to find lost faces!

Vicar's plan here is very reminiscent Barks, but also the plot is quite Barksian, as it belongs to its category Donald's fragile craftsmanship, as very well as he has baptized the COMIX staff. I liked it enough and it's in the familiar pattern that we're all used to. In the end, Donald does some blundering and loses the job. Too bad this story doesn't have an article...

One 8/10 We'll put it on.

The third story is "The potion of laughter".

Summary:
Magica De Spell curses Uncle Scrooge with the curse of laughter.

Nice five-page story, designed beautifully by Bass Haymans. I always like stories about Magica, and this five-page page is no exception and, even though it's small, it's pretty good! I'd like it to be ten pages, but that's good.

So we'll put the 7/10.

Fourth story is "The Revenge of Games" of Sune Troelstrup.

Summary:
Donald's nephews try to make their uncle respect the games.

Very nicely designed story by Francisco Rodriguez Peinado, but with a weak and somewhat "childly" script... I didn't like it very much, and I didn't enjoy it as a story. We've seen the nephews bring her to Donald in much smarter ways in different stories. For me, the weakest of the issue.

I will. 6,5/10.

Fifth story is For a barrel of dollars Carl Barks.

Summary:
Donald becomes a "lighter", in order to win a barrel of dollars in a knowledge game.

The ten-page story is designed by Barks, with a wonderful design and the script is unknown. The article on this story I found wonderful and very informative. That's a lot of laughs, with fun gangs with Donald turning light. In the end I felt sorry for poor Donald, as misfortune won't let him enjoy what he wants. Very nice and fun ten pages.

So... 8,5/10.

Single-pages are not worthy of attention... Only the Romantic Walk I liked it planned. so we won't analyze them.

This COMIX in its structure It looks a lot like COMIX 14 and that's not good... We'll give him one. 7–7,5/10. I don't know if that or 14 is the weakest in the series. I guess COMIX 14 is worse, as it's more tiring. We're stuck in the commercials again, but we also have four single-page stories. Instead of so many advertisements or single-pages, there could be another page on the letter column or another accompanying article or even the pictures/projects I told about the first story. The bad news is we're back in structure. It's like we took a step back and back. Let me say, however, that this issue is much better than Terzopoulos' COMIX, which we have been used to in recent years.

In the next COMIX we will see a main 68-page story, The seven BoglinsThe first part, 23 pages, is designed by Fatsini and the second, 45 pages, by Casty. It is released on Tuesday, November 24th. For the rest of the stories of the issue, nothing more is known... Let's just say the Captain's name is HISTORY BARKS, so we don't know if we'll have any Barks in the next issue. However, I think it is very good that we have a long history around 70 pages, even though it is not what I had predicted. And that's because not only have I heard good comments about the story, and we have Casty's return, which is missing months from the magazine, but also because he will follow COMIX 17 the pattern of issues such as COMIX 1 & COMIX 11. And the pattern of these issues was extremely successful. So we expect a very good issue for next time.
