Let's go back to Mickey Mouse #155 with a central story from Maestro Cavatsano!
A hero for Donna Carmen (30 pages)
- Project: Giorgio Kavacano
- Screenplay: Marco Bosco
The cover is very nice. Cavatsano's plan is always beautiful. 8/10
Scrooge blackmails Donald to bring Phantom Duck, to the millionaire club to meet Donna Carmen and close a very profitable deal with her. What's Donald going to do (where's Phantom) and he's got to be at work and a club at the same time?
I liked the story a lot. Cavatsano's design is cartoon and plastic. I generally like how he designs Donald, Scrooge, and Robax. And the Morgols were beautifully designed. Now on the screenplay side. The story goes straight. The pattern is almost common only that Donald this time is not blackmailed for debts as we are used to but if he refuses his uncle's proposal then he will be evicted after his house belongs to Scrooge. So he is forced to attend as a Phantom Duck, but I was a little impressed by the Robax twist.
I generally liked it but what I liked best was the end where Donald brought it to his uncle and made him pay for his blackmail. That's right. He reminded me of old Fantom stories where the masked man was not a superhero but used his secret identity to "revenge" individuals who had wronged him like Scrooge and Gastone.
Score: 8/10!
Of the rest of the stories I stood out Gufonso's oboe who had a beautiful plan along with a little funny plot and Junior's story. Mr. Viper's quiet summer. I'll put one on. 7,5/10 and 7/10 in the stories respectively. In general the issue was in good levels.
