Summary
What if Scrooge didn't meet his nephews at Christmas on Bear Mountain.

The story about Uncle ScroogeUncle Scrooge and the Infinity Dime», published by Marvel some time ago, consists of 4 parts. The project has been undertaken by various Italian Disney creators, such as Paolo Mottura and Francesco D’Ippolito. The script is by Jason Aaron, who is known for his work in Marvel series such as Thor, Wolverine etc.

For a long time I had read only the 4 pages of Mottura with the amazing design that was just the introduction, while I had taken a look at the rest. Finally, I read the whole story and it was, as I expected, disappointing.

From the introductory text Aaron praises him Don Rosa As legendary, Barks as the creator of Scrooge, and also mentions Italians with the great Scarpa. He had read Fantographics' volume with «Son of the Sun» Once together his son and devotes this particular story to him. This from the beginning had put me under suspicion of what would follow.

Script

In my opinion, the most beautiful part of the story is the first four pages. What if Scrooge hadn't met his nephews at «Bear Mountain»? In general, the idea of «What If» combined with other such moments in the Duck universe would be interesting.

From there on the multiverse is a script that Marvel has overflowed. The screenplay here is far enough with «Higher All» Scrooge which is a reference to «One Above All». This has the effect that history has no meaning at various points and that it wants to pass on the message of its great importance. Family. On the other hand we have references to Rosa's work and this shows how much the writer and his version of Scrooge liked him.

In addition, the characters were completely blank, without a soul, with the worst of all Donald. The phase reminded a little of DuckTales, while we may have seen one of the dumbest versions of the Marrowwolves. The rhythm of history was quite hasty. This makes sense, because the pages were not enough for the scriptural needs of history. Unfortunately, as is evident, problems are many.

Drawing & Color

The design level varies from good, to very good with Mottura's four-page climax and the two-page with Scrooge's versions. For coloring I'll just say he was excellent.

Summary

Fortunately, there's Uncle Carl's story with Uncle Scrooge's first appearance, «Christmas in Bear Mountain»And so it doesn't leave so much bitterness in central history. If we wanted to see a good story scriptically, which is a kind of continuity for this story, I would prefer «Back to Bear Mountain» The Cavazzano and Faraci.

A story that tries to show how important Scrooge's meeting with his nephews was, that is, his family, but, unfortunately, it fails because the marvaging of the plot creates many problems.
