Detective Donald's up at Mickey Mouse! Let's see what we thought of the first story of the series.
Mystery in Kamvas (40 pages)
- Project: Vito Stabile – Screenplay: Carlo Limido
Beautiful cover with very nice colors and is also "atmospheric". 9/10
A movie star falls victim to blackmail and asks for the help of private detective Donald Raymond Duck.
The central story of the issue in which the design is generally beautiful and atmospheric (I liked the way villains and policemen were designed). It reminds the 1940s era in which history is placed chronicly. Doris is very well designed and even though she's Detective Donald's assistant she's actually the lead and the true heroine as Donald unfortunately isn't the smartest. History as a first part of a series that will concern us and later begins quite well. It shows some characters, the atmosphere of the time, has a dose of mystery and a few twists. What I liked is that the mystery that prevails is not all solved. So that makes you want to see what happens next. I guess Carl Palettas must be a reference to Uncle Carl.
As for the rest of the stories, I'll say that «The Star of Desires» It stands out far and somehow approaches the central history score. This particular story while not having the awesome plan had a very nice script. It's about what would happen if Black Pete didn't have Mickey Mouse on his feet ruining his business. I liked it very much that the screenwriter thought of the Black Ghost which once again is an ace in disguises and tricks. Because of the plan, I'll put less than the main story. 7.5/10
